The real reason I’m writing this is to tell you about the most delicious bread of all time, Dutch Crunch. I’m so utterly in love with the bread that I’ve made a sandwich with just the bread, mayo and hot pepper slices. It was sad and delightful all at once. I was reading this blog and the author was waxing poetically about it too, so I feel like we are soulmates or at the very least bread eskimo brothers.
In case you can’t tell by the url, it’s all about pastrami…in it’s various shapes and forms, namely sandwich form (see example below).
If you live in the Bay Area and you have a hankering for some good pastrami there are some deli reccommendations. He literally facebooked the “Corned Beef King of San Francisco” and then went to meet him, the post about the meeting was pretty interesting and it leads into a detailed account of visiting local Irish pubs, such as the awesomely named Lefty O’Douls.
My confession is that I’ve never actually eaten pastrami, but I have to say I was entertained by the posts, this guy freaking loves pastrami. If this blog were a movie, the trailer would say “Boy Meets Meat: A heart-warming tale of a boy and his meat” then cut to him spinning a pastrami sandwich on the beach at sunset.
Thanks pastramiblog.blogspot.com and Johnnemann! It’s good to know there’s site for that.
