Some people have really cool jobs. Jobs that I had no idea even existed, but now that I know about them, I am so jealous! This guy’s job is to find really cool places in NYC and scout them them for movies and tv shows. Then he blogs about the locations, complete with some really cool pictures and stories about the buildings.

I want to live here.

There are some truly amazing locations documented on his blog, but the coolest thing is when you actually recognize a building from a tv show. I was riveted by the post about the Hempstead House, which was owned by the Guggenheims, used as a WWII orphanage and most recently used in the unfortunately cancelled series Kings.

See!! Omg it's right in the background

I don’t know what it is about seeing movie locations, it literally makes me giddy. ok ok, this one is a classroom seen in Spiderman, Kinsey, and Mona Lisa Smile! The author definetely dispels any of the movie magic you might believe in; “If you believe Hollywood, every single college lecture hall in New York City looks like the one below:

Peter Parker is hawt

Umm…yea I kind of did believe that.

The story behind this building is unbelievable, really moving and so well researched, I was amazed at the level of detail. If there is one thing you can expect from the posts on here, it is detail, from photos to stories; they are so richly descriptive.

The pictures alone are worth clicking through. But the write up on these locations is a fantastic read. I loved this site.
Thanks scoutingny.com! It’s good to know there’s a site for that.
